Borgo San Pietro Aquaeortus

“IT WAS THE DREAM OF MY LIFE TO MAKE THIS BORGO REBORN”

Stefano Magini

The Borgo where flows the stream giving origin to the Ancient Borgo San Pietro Aquaeortus (Lat. “source of water”).

The place of innate spirituality that makes Saint Peter stop here on his way back to Rome. The Saint, passing on the Via Francigena where the Borgo is situated, stopped in this unique place and made the water gush out giving the Baptism.

Hence, the genesis of the monastery, which over the centuries became first a real borgo (Ital. village) and today it returns to its original vocation of spirituality and simplicity – the Italy we were.
