The entire Borgo was restored in 2005 after five years of meticulous reconstruction.
Every phase of the work was guided by a clear vision: bringing the medieval hamlet back to life while preserving its historical authenticity.
Each building was dismantled stone by stone, stabilised, and rebuilt using the original materials in full respect of traditional reconstructive methods. The result is a place where every arch, wall, and pathway carries the scent of history and the craftsmanship of past centuries.
These restoration works form part of a broader cultural project called “L’Italia che eravamo” (“Italy we were”), an initiative aimed at preserving and honouring the rural, spiritual, and historical identity of the Italian landscape.
